Resveratrol Supplement for Animals?

For some unknown reason, we received many inquiries this week about giving Vindure 900 Resveratrol Supplement to dogs, cats, and other animals.  This is quite interesting and appears to make sense. Once people start noticing big changes with their own health in a short period of time, it’s natural to want everyone in your family to feel just as good, including your pets!  And who doesn’t want their pets to live a long, healthy life?

The most unusual inquiry came from a trainer in Kentucky who ordered a case of Vindure for his horses (6 tablets per day per horse!).  That is apparently the standard scale-up of dosage from humans to horses.

When we hear back from the trainer we’ll report the “testimonial” here on the blog.  Straight from the horse’s mouth ;<)

Most of our inquiries, however, were for dogs and cats.  Each Vindure 900 tablet contains over 400 mg of pure trans-Resveratrol, in addition to 400mg of grape extract and 100mg of Quercetin.

Please DO NOT give Vindure to your pets!

Grapes, raisins, and wine (along with several other foods) can be toxic to many dogs and cats, causing renal failure and other serious problems.  Each Vindure tablet contains the equivalent of 2 glasses of red wine, which has a beneficial effect on humans, but apparently can be dangerous for pets.  The Resveratrol and Quercetin in Vindure are NOT extracted from grapes.  They are extracted from the roots of the Japanese Knotweed and the buds of the Pagoda tree, due to cost factors.  But with the large dosage of Resveratrol and Quercetin, and the presence of grape extract, pets should be kept away from Vindure.

There are several Resveratrol products on the market with appropriate dosages for pets, and which don’t contain any grape extract.  You should stick to products that have been designed and tested for pet safety.
