In the last few decades, scientists throughout the world have uncovered promising evidence that regular consumption of Resveratrol could contribute to improving health and reducing the chance of developing cancer, stroke, heart disease, brain degeneration and aging.

Resveratrol is a non-flavonoid polyphenol found in grapes and Japanese knotweed.

As you already know, Vindure 900 is a superior product on the market because it not only contains Resveratrol, but also the polyphenol, Quercetin, and additional polyphenols found in grapes.

When Quercetin is added to Resveratrol, the Resveratrol stays in the blood longer, potentially benefiting the person or animal for a longer period of time. The additional polyphenols found in grapes may also extend the time and / or benefits of Resveratrol.

This makes a lot of sense because plant chemicals in foods often enhance each other. A potentially beneficial constituent could have its biological activity enhanced by three other constituents in that same plant.

Since 2006, researchers reported on other chemicals, melatonin and serotonin, found in grapes.

Grapes contain melatonin and serotonin?

Yes, that’s right!

These other chemicals could change how doctors eventually treat their patients. For example, if someone is having difficulty adjusting sleep cycles because of international travel, maybe grape polyphenols along with Resveratrol could be part of the solution. If someone is not responding well to anti-depressant medication, perhaps grape polyphenols and Resveratrol would be an adjunct treatment.

Nobody seems to know what the relationship of melatonin and serotonin is to Resveratrol or Quercetin or the other polyphenols at this time but one thing is certain–they all work together to enhance health and longevity.

The sweetness of a grape can brighten your day! And the fact is that there is more than just a grape’s sweet flavor that makes grapes a great food. Grape polyphenols, such as the ones added to Vinomis’ Resveratrol Vindure 900 supplement, have been shown in scientific studies to improve health and increase longevity.

But what exactly is a grape polyphenol?

Polyphenols are chemical substances found in plants that have more than one phenol group on them. There are hundreds of types of polyphenols found in plants of all types, including grapes. The polyphenols are responsible for how foods taste, their color, and how they feel in your mouth. They are water soluble.

Grape and plant polyphenols can be divided into two categories – flavonoids and non-flavonoids. Some of the flavonoids found in grapes are similar to the bioflavonoids found in the yellow part of the rind of oranges and grapefruit. In grapes, sun exposure increases the concentration of flavonoids. These compounds include anthocyanins and tannins. Anthocyanins are responsible for grapes to turn color when ripe. Tannins are chemical compounds that are astringent, or make your mouth pucker. In red wine, flavonoids make up about 90% of the polyphenolic compounds.

One flavonoid found in grapes is Quercetin, which is a component of Vindure 900. Others include ellagic acid, kaempferol, and myricetin.

Resveratrol is one of the non-flavonoid compounds.

When grapes are made into wine, the skin of the grape increases the amount of polyphenols in the wine. Red wine has a greater amount of polyphenols than white wine because white wine does not have contact with the skin of the grape. Aging wine in oak barrels increases the polyphenol content by increasing a phenol called vanillin. Vanillin gives these wines a vanilla aroma.

Vinomis wants you to have all the polyphenol power you can get. That’s why they include not only Resveratrol, but also Quercetin and grape polyphenols together in Vindure 900. With this winning combination, you can only experience benefits.

It seems amazing to me that so many research scientists have finally realized that there is so much value in the natural foods that God put on Earth for us to eat! Back in the 1970s, it was difficult to convince people just to eat their vegetables and to cut down on the amount of sugar that they were eating. Yet now, nutritional supplements such as Resveratrol in Vindure 900 from Vinomis Laboratories are the buzz around town, on the internet, at group meetings, and at family reunions. People can’t help but talk about the benefits they are experiencing when they take Resveratrol; they feel so good. And they love the fact that Vindure 900 is all-natural.

The scientists love Resveratrol because it’s easy for them to see a difference in almost anything they test, whether it’s immune system status, LDL-cholesterol oxidation, cardiovascular risk, or anti-aging effects.

These scientists are from all around the world. Here’s a short list of some of the research labs around the world that are making history with their work:

• The Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, Alabama discovered that Resveratrol suppressed prostate cancer in rats.

• The Department of Anesthesiology at Chang Gung University in Taiwan found that rats with liver injury and hemorrhage were significantly helped with Resveratrol.

• At the School of Medicine in Aix-Marseille University in France, Resveratrol was taken in by thyroid cells in a process called iodide trapping and was found to be a promising molecule for radioiodide therapy in thyroid cancer patients.

• At the Department of Pharmacology at Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz, Germany, Resveratrol was found to help boost production of enzymes necessary for detoxification of the body (superoxide dismutase and glutathione peroxidase 1). These scientists concluded that because of this action, the Resveratrol would protect the blood vessels.

• At the University of Iowa in the Department of Internal Medicine at Carver College of Medicine, scientists used a rat model to see if they could impact Parkinson’s disease with Resveratrol’s antioxidant and anti-inflammatory actions. The part of the brain destroyed by this neurological disease was protected with Resveratrol.

• And at the Department of Gastroenterology and Hematology at the Graduate School of Medicine and Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Toyama in Japan, Resveratrol blocked changes in the test tube cells induced by Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori). This research confirmed Resveratrol’s anti-cancer and anti-inflammatory activity.

Scientists from Alabama, Iowa, Taiwan, Japan, Germany and France all agree – everyone should take a look at all the good things that Resveratrol is doing! And there’s more to come.

Have you taken your Vindure 900 today?

Ulcerative colitis is like a lot of other diseases – it’s no fun to have it and it ruins a lot of good things in life. All people with ulcerative colitis have one habit in common – whenever they go out to a restaurant or to a friend’s house, the first thing they find out is where the rest room is. That’s because they never know when they will have an attack.

Ulcerative colitis is an inflammation of the colon. The problem with this chronic inflammation is that the constant diarrhea can lead to loss of electrolytes, weakness and fatigue, as well as many nutritional deficiencies. Recently in the journal, Cancer Research, scientists explained why patients with colitis have up to 30 times the risk of ending up with colon cancer. There’s a clear link between colitis and cancer.

Worldwide, there are researchers working round the clock to find a cure for ulcerative colitis. In one study performed at the Department of Pharmacology, School of Pharmacy at the University of Seville in Spain, five researchers supplemented the diets of mice with Resveratrol at the level of 20 mg/kg and others received no supplement at all. The mice were then exposed to a chemical that causes colitis for five days. After 21 days, the colitis developed to the point where there was a pretty severe chronic inflammation, one that could mimic the worst cases of that in humans.

What do you think happened?

The mice that received the Resveratrol had less problems with weight loss, diarrhea and rectal bleeding compared to those that did not.

And here’s the best part of all. Every one of the mice fed Resveratrol survived, compared to only 60% of the mice that didn’t take the Resveratrol survived.

Just when you think that’s all there is to this study, you find out there’s more. Three weeks after the chemical caused the colitis, other positive changes occurred in the Resveratrol group.

There are many types of compounds in the body that cause inflammation or contribute to the cause of inflammation. Some of them are TNF-alpha, IL-1 beta, cytokine IL-10, Prostaglandin E synthase, cyclooxygenase2 (COX-2) and inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS). Every one of these inflammatory compounds was substantially decreased in the group of mice that consumed the Resveratrol in their diet. Hoorah for Resveratrol!

This research was reported in the European Journal of Pharmacology on Feb. 2, 2010. It’s pretty significant because the researchers concluded that the “Resveratrol diet” was a new and novel approach to the treatment of chronic intestinal inflammation.

They may be getting ideas about trying the Resveratrol with humans soon…I personally can’t wait for the day when we can wipe out Ulcerative Colitis. I’ve seen too many people suffer.

For some unknown reason, we received many inquiries this week about giving Vindure 900 Resveratrol Supplement to dogs, cats, and other animals. This is quite interesting and appears to make sense. Once people start noticing big changes with their own health in a short period of time, it’s natural to want everyone in your family to feel just as good, including your pets! And who doesn’t want their pets to live a long, healthy life?

The most unusual inquiry came from a trainer in Kentucky who ordered a case of Vindure for his horses (6 tablets per day per horse!). That is apparently the standard scale-up of dosage from humans to horses.

When we hear back from the trainer we’ll report the “testimonial” here on the blog. Straight from the horse’s mouth ;<)

Most of our inquiries, however, were for dogs and cats. Each Vindure 900 tablet contains over 400 mg of pure trans-Resveratrol, in addition to 400mg of grape extract and 100mg of Quercetin.

Please DO NOT give Vindure to your pets!

Grapes, raisins, and wine (along with several other foods) can be toxic to many dogs and cats, causing renal failure and other serious problems. Each Vindure tablet contains the equivalent of 2 glasses of red wine, which has a beneficial effect on humans, but apparently can be dangerous for pets. The Resveratrol and Quercetin in Vindure are NOT extracted from grapes. They are extracted from the roots of the Japanese Knotweed and the buds of the Pagoda tree, due to cost factors. But with the large dosage of Resveratrol and Quercetin, and the presence of grape extract, pets should be kept away from Vindure.

There are several Resveratrol products on the market with appropriate dosages for pets, and which don’t contain any grape extract. You should stick to products that have been designed and tested for pet safety.

For more information on human foods that should not be given to pets, please visit the ASPCA web site at: http://www2.aspca.org/site/News2?id=16645&page=NewsArticle

Now that the Saints have finished marching in, it’s time to get our bodies back on the path to good health. Here’s a few helpful tips from your friends at Vinomis…

Hydrate, Hydrate, Hydrate! Drink lots of water to flush out the bad stuff. After indulging in the three basic food groups (sugar, salt, and fat) it’s even more important than usual.

Throw away the leftovers! The pizza. The chips. Heavy on the salads for a while. Proteins, yes – carbs, no. A few days of no junk will leave you feeling improved.

Get moving! Time to leave the couch and hit the pavement. Spring training starts now. 30 minutes of walking a day is all it takes to reduce the waistline and protect the heart.

Antioxidize! Protect your body from the inside out to prevent and repair cellular damage caused by free radicals. Green tea, colorful fruits, and especially Vindure 900 are high in antioxidants.

Take your Vindure! Resveratrol, Quercetin, and the other polyphenols in Vindure have been shown to protect against the ravages of overindulgence.

Ironically, the Super Bowl is held in February, which is American Hearth Month. Follow these tips to make sure that “defeat is not grabbed from the jaws of victory.”

In 2007, Drug giant Glaxo purchased Sirtris Pharmaceuticals for $720 Million. Sirtris is now in the test phase of several drugs for the treatment of Cancer and Diabetes, based on the Resveratrol molecule. Sirtris gets its name from the well know ability of Resveratrol to activate the SIRT genes, which produce the Sirtuin enzymes. Resveratrol is one of many Polyphenols found in red wine grapes which are believed to underlie the “French Paradox,” the observation that people in France live longer and healthier than others, despite a high-calorie, high-fat diet.

Although Glaxo is still years away from having an FDA approved drug for sale, Pfizer, a major Glaxo competitor, has begun the competitive battle, casting doubt on Glaxo’s claims. Yet Pfizer’s own researcher, Dr. Kay Ahn was quoted in an article last month in Nature magazine, and downplayed the significance of her study. “Under our conditions we didn’t see beneficial effects, but we don’t want to make a big conclusion out of those results,” she said.

Glaxo said in a statement that “scientific debate around the interpretation of data is a normal part of discovery in emerging areas of research.” It maintains that Pfizer’s interpretation of data “is at odds with multiple studies conducted at Sirtris and those published by independent investigators.” The company added that the “purity of the compounds that were used in their study … cannot be ascertained due to the lack of data provided. The publication also does not cite nor discuss multiple scientific publications which are in direct contrast to their primary conclusions; as such it is unclear how to place this work in perspective of what has been found by other investigators.”

Vinomis Laboratories, makers of the over-the-counter supplement Vindure 900, based on Resveratrol, Quercetin, and other red wine grape polyphenols, reports that their customers are reporting results consistent with the Resveratrol studies done at Harvard Medical School. Says Barry Yarkoni, CEO, “whether the benefits are the result of Sirtuin activation will be the subject of much ongoing research. However, the benefits that people are experiencing from our product are very real regardless of what scientists determine the exact mechanisms to be.”

Dr. Bryan Donohue, Vinomis Chief Medical Advisor, was featured on KDKA’s Good Morning Pittsburgh show. Dr. Donohue reviewed the thousand year history and 50 years of research on Resveratrol, all in 6 minutes. He explained that it has always been observed that “near starvation” causes people to stop aging, as long as they don’t die of starvation. Scientists have discovered that this adversity activates “survival genes” in the body. Research over the past 10 years has identified these genes as the SIRT genes, which produce Sirtuins. Resveratrol seems to have the same affect on the SIRT genes, elevating the Sirtuins, but without the starvation. Research on laboratory animals has confirmed that this can indeed, increase lifespan, especially in cases where obesity or other conditions might otherwise shorten it. Resveratrol, along with Quercetin are found in red wine, dark chocolate, and other plants.

Dr. Donohue was asked what kind of benefits his patients on Vindure are experiencing. In addition to almost “across the board” reports of increased energy and verve, Dr. Donahue has seen improvements in the “insulin curve” of many patients. The science behind Resveratrol, and Vindure, says Dr. Donohue, “is jaw-dropping.”

A research group led by Carlos T. Moraes, Ph.D., professor of neurology and cell biology and anatomy at the Miller School, has published new findings about how increased mitochondrial levels may improve overall health and increase longevity.

According to the article published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Science, the researchers increased the amount of mitochondria in a mouse model by a transgenic expression of a gene called PGC-1α. The protein produced by this gene controls the expression of many genes that are involved in mitochondrial biogenesis.

Both ResGrape from Perfect Supplements and Vindure 900 from Vinomis Laboratories have Resveratrol and Red Wine Grape extracts in their supplement products.
So what’s the difference?

Both ResGrape from Perfect Supplements and Vindure 900 from Vinomis Laboratories have Resveratrol and Red Wine Grape extracts in their supplement products.

So what’s the difference?

1. Amount of Resveratrol

ResGrape (2 tablet dosage) = 200 mg of 99% pure Resveratrol

Vindure 900 (1 tablet) = 400 mg of 98% pure Resveratrol

**Vindure 900 has twice (2x) the amount of Resveratrol. Numerous studies have placed the recommended human Resveratrol dosage in the 400 – 500 mg per day range (i.e Dr. Smoliga, Dr. Baur). Difference between 98% pure and 99% pure is insignificant.

2. Red Wine Grape Extract

ResGrape = 1,000 mg of Muscadine grape extract

Vindure 900 = 400 mg of Whole Grape extract with 90% polyphenols

**Both products have quality grape extracts. Why? Harvard scientists discovered that 17 different polyphenols, all found in Red Wine Grapes, product positive health effects. Resveratrol was #1 and most potent, but others were also important. Whole grape extracts contain all 17 of these polyphenols. Scientist have also proved that the different polyphenols interact together to provide health benefits. ResGrape has over twice the amount of Red Wine grape extract.

3. ORAC Antioxidant Value

ResGrape = 6,235 per serving (2 capsules)

Vindure 900 = 19,638 per serving (1 tablet)

**Vindure 900 has 3x the ORAC Antioxidant value. Why? — More Resveratrol.

4. Bioavailability

ResGrape = No Quercetin

Vindure 900 = 100 mg Quercetin

**Quercetin has been found, in numerous studies, to increase the “bioavailability” of Resveratrol — which is the amount of time in the blood stream.

5. Price

ResGrape = $45.95 for 60 tablets (2 per day) 1-month supply

Vindure 900 = $39.95 per month or $33.33 per month on 3-month re-order program for a 1-month supply

**ResGrape has a slightly higher monthly price.
