Damage to DNA

This theory postulates that there is repetitive damage to the the DNA in the nucleus of the cells and the mitochondria. Cells are continually bombarded with potential damage-causing events such as the assault of free-radicals, UV rays from the sun, and other agents. The body has a natural repair system, but when it is bombarded and overwhelmed, genetic mutations may occur, and may even eventually lead to cancer.

Damage to cells and mitochondria can lead to muscle disorders, inflammatory diseases, and even Alheimer’s disease.

Resveratrol and red wine grape polyphenols help counteract the effects of free-radicals, UV rays, and inflammation.
