Resveratrol Dosage

There is a lot of Internet and blog chatter about what the right Resveratrol dosage for humans. Animal studies suggest that larger dosages are superior, andhuman clinical trials have been shown to have few if any side-effects at very high dosages, and no toxicity even at extremely high Resveratrol dosages. In 2006, Xenomis conducted a study on humans with Dr. James Smoliga of Marywood University (2006) using the formulation:
- 400 mg of 98% pure Resveratrol
- 400 mg Red Wine Grape extract
- 100 mg Quercetin
This is the exact combination of ingredients found in Vindure 900., which can be purchased at www.vinomis.com.
The Smoliga study showed significant improvements in energy level, strength, endurance, and verbal memory. There were no reported side effects by the patients. A second study is underway with 400 mg of Naturex Powergrape — a red-wine grape extract. Before Vinomis creates its formulations, it thoroughly tests them in human trials, our medical advisors take blood tests of their patients to determine the effects.
Products in the high-range of Resveratrol (400 – 500 mg) cost more, and generally use the highest quality 98% pure Resveratrol (be sure the purity is on theSupplement Label). The cost of this high quantity and high quality Resveratrol is $600 – $800 per kg! So naturally, these products carry a higher price, because the ingredients cost more. Some companies recommend 800 – 1,000 mg, but no company includes that much Resveratrol in a single capsule or tablet because they simply can’t fit that many milligrams into a pill. Taking 2 of these products is recommended.
Whatever you buy, make sure to read the product Supplement Facts. It’s the only way to be sure what you’re getting. If you can’t find them on the company’s website, I sincerely recommend not buying that supplement. Here are the Vindure 900 Supplement Facts
Companies that manufacture Resveratrol supplements will of course tell you that the ideal dosage is whatever they put into their own product. Those with low dosages (50 – 200 mg) will tell you that you either don’t need more quantity, or that more Resveratrol is bad for you. This is simply not true. They may even tell you that their resveratrol is “more potent”. This just doesn’t make sense.
Resveratrol potency is a function of 1) the amount of resveratrol, 2) the purity of resveratrol – 98%+ pure is the best, and 3) the bioavailability of the resveratrol – inclusion of Quercetin and other red wine grape polyphenols.
If you find products with low dosages (50 – 200 mg) that cost as much as the products with high dosages (400 – 500 mg) that means the company is simply earning more profit, and charging more than they need to.
